Job Description
Summary/objective
Industrial technical training instructor focuses on equipping individuals with the practical skills and knowledge needed for careers in various industrial sectors. Programs can range from hands-on courses in specific trades to broader training in areas like manufacturing, maintenance, and technology.
Essential functions
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify areas where employees require additional training or development.
- Develop and design training programs that meet the identified needs, including course outlines, lesson plans, and training materials.
- Create and update training materials, including manuals, presentations, videos, and other resources.
- Deliver training sessions, either in person or online, using various methods such as lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.
- Evaluate trainee progress and performance, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, course completion, and assessment results.
- Stay up to date on the latest technical advancements and industry trends to ensure training programs are current and relevant.
- Collaborate with other trainers, managers, and subject matter experts to develop and implement training programs.

Work environment
The Industrial Technical Instructor typically works in a classroom environment, but the mission of the school may require work in the business and industry community and other settings. A standard workweek is required, but additionally may require evening or weekend hours to accommodate activities such representation of Great Plains at public and school events.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to remain stationary, move/position objects up to and exceeding 50 pounds, move about their classroom, building and/or across campus and communicate with staff and students. Employee may be required to perform extensive work at a computer display terminal.
Travel required
Travel within and outside of the Great Plains Technology Center district may be required for activities, professional development and participation in other Great Plains Technology Center activities.

Job Description
Summary/objective
Responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing technical training programs for clients to ensure skill development and compliance with industry standards. This role works closely with company department heads, subject matter experts, and external vendors to assess training needs and deliver effective learning solutions that enhance workforce capabilities and performance.
Essential functions
· Coordinate, schedule, and track technical training programs and sessions.
· Supervise & evaluate instructors and other staff as applicable
· Serve as instructor for some training topics as needed and based on expertise
· Develop and monitor training project budget and ensure compliance with GPTC procurement policy.
· Engage in relationship building with local businesses & industry contacts through client meetings, community organizations, networking events, and other channels to increase impact on district.
· Collaborate with managers and technical leads to identify training needs and objectives within civilian and government businesses and industry.
· Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, and documentation.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
· Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
· Effectively communicate with other GPTC employees/departments, clients, stakeholders, and external training providers.
· Manage Learning Management System (LMS) content related to technical training.
· Monitor industry trends to update and improve training practices and technologies.
· Support onboarding processes by coordinating initial technical training for new hires and orientating new hire with GPTC policy & procedures and other applicable functions.
· Provide logistical support for client training sessions such as pre-hire testing or certification testing.
· Approve leave, timesheets, and provide other administrative support related to supervised programs and employees.

· Subject Knowledge: Knowledge of effective training strategies and development practices. Knowledge of administrative best practices and ability to set priorities based on this knowledge. Awareness of technical advances in industry and willingness to explore new training opportunities and research the market for customers.
